Dear Bride,
If we were sitting together over a cup of coffee before your wedding day, this is what I would want you to know.
Take a deep breath.
There is so much pressure surrounding weddings today. Everywhere you look, someone is telling you what your day should look like, what trends to follow, or what details deserve your attention. It’s easy to believe that everything has to be perfect.
It doesn’t.
After more than twenty years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the celebrations couples remember most aren’t defined by perfect timelines or flawless details. They’re remembered by how they felt.
As you’re making decisions over the coming months, keep asking yourselves one simple question: Will this matter to us in twenty years?

The answer is almost always found in the people you love. It will be in the vows you speak, the look on your father’s face before he walks you down the aisle, your grandmother’s embrace, and the laughter that fills the room. Those are the moments that become part of your key memories.
The rest has a way of fading.
So protect your joy. Give yourselves permission to step away from expectations and create a celebration that feels like the two of you. No perfectly folded napkin, signature cocktail, or seating chart will ever matter as much as being fully present with the people you love.

When the day finally arrives, look around the room. Hold your parents a little longer. Thank the friends who came to be by your side. Take a quiet moment together before the evening slips away.
Your wedding is not a performance. It’s the beginning of a beautiful life together, and I hope you experience every moment of it.
Warmly,
Sarah
